Kimberling City Sits in the Heart of Table Rock Lake

Kimberling City is a small lakeside community on the south side of Table Rock Lake, just a short drive west of Branson. It is one of my favorite parts of the lake to fish. The water here is the middle section of Table Rock, deep clear water with rocky main lake points, productive creek arms, and quality structure for every species the lake holds.

If you are staying in Kimberling City or looking for a Branson area fishing trip that starts away from the busier ramps near the dam, this area is ideal.

Kimberling City Landmarks and Access

Port of Kimberling Marina sits on the main lake right in town and is a busy launching point.

Kimberling Bridge on Highway 13 crosses Table Rock Lake and is a landmark for the central section of the lake.

Kimberling City area creek arms include Mill Creek, Indian Creek, and several smaller productive pockets.

The community is built around the lake, so lakefront resorts, condos, and boat ramps are everywhere. It is a very angler friendly area.

Fishing Patterns in Kimberling City Waters

Middle section of Table Rock Lake generally produces the best mix of largemouth, smallmouth, and Kentucky spotted bass. The bottom here is rocky with deep water in close proximity to shallow flats, which suits all three species.

Spring spawn fishing in the mid lake creek arms is excellent. Fall topwater over main lake points near Kimberling can be explosive.

Winter jerkbait bite on the bluff ends and points out from the marina produces trophy class fish.

Summer fishing requires early starts. Deep structure off the mouths of creek arms holds schools of spots.

Species Targets

Largemouth bass: Peak March to May spawn, good fall action.

Smallmouth bass: Rocky points and bluff ends produce year round.

Kentucky spotted bass: The consistent producer, especially fall through early winter.

Crappie: Deep brush in summer, shallow timber in spring.
